It All Begins Here…

Wow! My first blog! Is this the next step in adulting?

This feels very similar to taking care of a plant, or starting a new workout routine, or keeping my children alive. I don’t know if I’m ready for it but I’m sure going to try!

Each month, I’m going to write a little bit. Give you a recap on my recent travels. Share tips for travel success (based on my past successes and mistakes). Offer sneak peaks as to what I’m working on. Feature promotions from preferred suppliers. And mayyybe I’ll tell you which shows I’m bingeing or books I’m devouring!

To start, this is where I travelled in the past 12 months and what’s coming up for 2026.

March - 7nt Virgin Voyages Western Caribbean cruise on Scarlet Lady and Rising Star Summit at Sandals South Coast

May - Paracon at Pennhurst Asylum

June - TravelSavers Conference in Orlando, EPCOT, Melia Casa Maya, Paradisus La Perla

July - GTM Conference in Ft Lauderdale

September - Australia (Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Canberra, Sydney)

November - Secrets Baby Beach, Celebrity Xcel inaugural sailing

December - 7nt AmaWaterways Rhine Castles & Swiss Alps Christmas Market cruise

Upcoming - Right now, all I have booked for 2026 is a personal vacation to Beaches Negril at the end of April. But there’s a good chance I’ll be taking the following trips this year:

  • Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres

  • Sandals Grande St. Lucian

  • 4nt Celebrity Caribbean cruise

  • 7nt Princess Caribbean cruise

  • Greece

What destinations are on your list for this year?

And lastly, here are a few travel tips to bring you into the New Year

  1. Always arrive in destination at least one day prior to a cruise or guided tour. Travel days are unpredictable and exhausting. And if you’re flying to another continent, the jet lag is so real if you’re over 30. I’ve tried arriving the day-of to try and save money - it’s not worth it.

  2. Always pack compression socks and a reusable water bottle. Nothing is worse than feeling swollen and dehydrated when you’re travelling. Or worse, missing out on your vacation!

  3. Always make sure connections for domestic flights are at least an hour long (unless you’re Usain Bolt and prepared to sprint a mile between terminals). For international connections, it should be a minimum of 2-3 hours. If you need to clear immigration & customs, collect and recheck bags, change terminals, and/or have any mobility issues, give yourself time!
